Traveling with a baby can feel like an adventure—one filled with sweet moments and unexpected challenges. I’ve flown long international flights with a six-month-old. I’ve also navigated road trips with a now fussy toddler. I know firsthand how the right gear can turn travel chaos into smooth sailing. Whether you’re flying, driving, or taking a train, these 10 must-have baby travel gadgets will make your trip easier. They will keep your little one comfortable, entertained, and safe. Stick around for our bonus gadget—a game-changer for travel-loving parents!
10. Portable White Noise Machine

One of the biggest struggles I faced traveling with my baby was getting her to sleep in a new environment. A portable white noise machine, like the Hatch Rest Go, helps block out background noise, creating a familiar and soothing sleep atmosphere. It’s compact, rechargeable, and perfect for long-haul flights or hotel stays.
9. Travel Bottle Warmer

Ever tried to warm a bottle in an airport bathroom? Not fun. A travel bottle warmer, such as the Baby Brezza, lets you warm bottles anywhere—without the need for an outlet! Perfect for road trips and airport feeds when access to hot water is limited.
8. Foldable Travel High Chair

Dining out with a baby can be tricky—especially when restaurants don’t have high chairs. A foldable travel high chair like the award winner and Montessori inspired Inglesina Fast Table chair attaches to most tables, providing a safe and sturdy seat for your little one. It saved us during a family trip to Spain, where many cafes had no high chairs at all!
7. Stroller Travel Bag

If you’ve ever picked up your stroller at baggage claim only to find it covered in dirt (or worse, broken!), you’ll appreciate something like this baby stroller travel bag (check your stroller for compatibility) It keeps your stroller clean, safe from damage, and easy to transport through busy airports. I personally prefer to bring my travel stroller instead (more on that later).
6. Inflatable Airplane Seat Extender

Long flights with a baby? Nightmare—unless they can actually sleep. An inflatable airplane seat extender, like the Flyaway airplane inflatable bed, creates a cozy sleeping area, allowing your baby to stretch out and rest peacefully on the plane ( check with your airline as no everywhere is accepted). I was skeptical at first, but after seeing my baby nap for two hours straight, I was sold ( she has super low sleep needs).
5. Baby Carrier

A lightweight baby carrier, such as the Ergo baby Omni Classic, is a lifesaver in airports, crowded streets, and sightseeing trips. Strollers aren’t always practical, and having my baby securely strapped to me made navigating subway stations and cobblestone streets so much easier. If your baby is less than 24 lbs (about 1 year) and lumbar support doesn’t matter to you, you might want to check out this BabyBjörn baby carrier mini is super easy to put in and take off and it fits literally everywhere.
4. Spill-Proof Snack Cup

Ever tried giving a snack to a baby on a plane? The results can be disastrous. A spill-proof snack cup, like the Melii snack catcher, lets your baby grab snacks without creating a mess in the car, on the plane, or in their stroller. I love how you can use the handle to hook it into the stroller ( at least it works on Uppababy and silver cross Jet4) and the design is so cute!
3. Portable Changing Pad

Diaper changes on the go can be stressful—especially when restrooms aren’t baby-friendly. A portable changing pad, like the Alatino changing pad , provides a clean, padded surface for diaper changes anywhere—airports, rest stops, park benches or even the stroller!! This has been one of the most used gadgets with my baby and if you pair it with this disposable pads you have a winner combo. Trust me, you don’t want to rely on sketchy public restroom changing tables!
2. Travel-Friendly Playpen

Hotels and Airbnbs aren’t always baby-proofed, and a travel-friendly playpen, such as the Silvercross Sleep ‘n Go gives your baby a safe and familiar place to sleep and play; another option is the Guava Lotus Travel Crib. We tested both options, and though the Lotus Guava is more compact, we ultimately chose the Silvercross because it included the bassinet and the materials felt more luxurious. We have used ours on every trip—plus, it doubled as a play area in hotel rooms.
1. Compact Travel Stroller

The ultimate baby travel essential? A lightweight, compact stroller, like the Jet 4 Silvercross or the Babyzen YOYO 2 . Both fold small enough to fit in an overhead bin, making it perfect for flights and city adventures. We have the Jet 4 just because I prefer the rolling style. I can’t tell you how many times we breezed past families struggling with bulky strollers at the airport—it’s worth every penny!
Bonus: UV Sanitizer for Baby Items

Worried about germs while traveling? I definitely was, even tho SJ never took the pacifier it works wonders with other objects, especially after my baby kept dropping her toys on the plane floor. A portable UV sanitizer, such as the GROWNSY Portable UV Sanitizer , helps sanitize pacifiers, bottles, and toys in seconds. A must-have for travel hygiene!
